Technically, any pizza can be made vegan if you strip it of all animal products. But not everyone wants a bland marinara pizza. These pies come vegan-ready, and are much more flavorful than just some red sauce on crust.

Jackson St. Pizza Lounge: New to the scene, JSPL opened in the former Central Pizza location in June 2023. And they have a vegan pie on the menu. The Tomato Pie is topped with roasted baby tomatoes, Mama Lil’s peppers, arugula and vegan mozzarella (optional). 2901 S Jackson St; (206) 485-7118.

Pi Vegan Pizzeria: A local institution, Pi is Seattle’s only all-vegan pizzeria. Whether you’re ordering a whole pie or slices (they have three on rotation), the flavors are unparalleled and definitely scratch that pizza itch! Non-vegans love this stuff, if that tells you anything. Shown: classic pepperoni; mac & cheese with ham; and sausage with cashew ricotta and jalapenos. 5301 Roosevelt Way NE;  (206) 343-1415.

Bar Solea: Brendan McGill knows how to cook plants. He brings as much TLC to his vegan options as he does anything else on his menu. The Vegano uses confit tomato, garlic, basil, oregano and arugula to produce a pizza that won’t last five minutes on your table. 822 1st Ave; (206) 682-7460.

Cornelly: One of Seattle’s hottest pizza and pasta spots makes a damn good vegan pie. The Red Fungi is made with maitake mushrooms, shallot, garlic confit, and fresh herbs. Get a side of their homemade focaccia for some of the best carbs on Capitol Hill. (And don’t sleep on their homemade pickles, either.) 601 Summit Ave E #103.

World Pizza: Squirreled away in an unassuming storefront in the ID, World Pizza does a brisk business, especially during lunch, offering whole pies and pizzas by the slice that are super affordable with one rotating vegan option daily. Shown: artichoke, garlic, onion, Roma tomato. This place has a lot of character and super friendly service. 672 S King St; (206) 682-4161. 

Lupo: Considered some of the best pies in the city, Lupo doesn’t rest on its laurels for its vegan pie. The Tomayto Tomahto is a tomato-based pizza with sun dried tomatoes, garlic, basil and capers. More capers on pizza, please! 4303 Fremont Ave N; (206) 547-2144.

Ian’s: A favorite among vegans, Ian’s has some of the best plant-based pies in the city. Shown: the Vegan Veggie with marinara, NUMU mozz, spinach, kale, artichokes, black olives and roasted red pepper. At least one vegan pie is offered by the slice daily. Moto: The square, deep-dish-style pies are the amalgamation of owner Lee Kindell’s pizza making experience, which includes Detroit, Roman, and New York-style pies. He uses a 120-year-old sourdough starter for the crust. Shown: Root — shiitake and portobello mushrooms, MOTO  cheese blend, parmesan, black olives, onion, and tomato sauce, all topped with a balsamic glaze and Plant — seasonal greens, pickled cabbage, MOTO cheese blend, parmesan, garlic and tomato sauces, sea salt, and black sesame seeds. Big Mario’s: This New York-style pizzeria has a vegan slice on their menu that features vegan cheese, tomato, black olives, and mushroom atop a very thin crust.
